LG Electronics is introducing a service that allows drivers to check unexpected situations in their cars on TV using its own embedded solution, and it is expected that various vehicle information will be available without a smartphone.

LG Electronics, in collaboration with domestic automaker KG Mobility, unveiled the 'My Car Alarm Service' on the 3rd, which is installed in KG Mobility's new vehicles 'Rexton Sports & Khan Coolmen' and 'Rexton New Arena'.

MyCar Alarm Service is a smart TV-based mobility service platform. It displays various information occurring in the vehicle as real-time alarm messages on the TV screen, such as shock detection in a parked vehicle, electric vehicle battery charging completion and discharge, and door opening.

Customers can check alarm messages while watching TV without having to keep their smartphone nearby, and can quickly respond to unexpected situations in their car, such as door dings or a dead battery.

Previously, related information was only available on smartphones with the connected car app from the automaker installed, but now you can share necessary information with family members watching TV.

LG Electronics plans to continuously expand the service area of My Car Alarm by collaborating with various platform companies that provide mobility-based lifestyle convenience services such as black boxes, navigation, taxi calling, and delivery.

The MyCar Alarm service is also effective in helping automakers increase customer contact by delivering promotional information, such as new car launches or seasonal events, and useful content to customers via TV.

Customers using LG Smart TVs equipped with webOS 23, an embedded platform developed by LG Electronics, or Smart TVs using the Android OS can use this service.

Customers can install the LG MyCar Alarm app on the TV connected to the set-top box and run the 'MyCar Alarm Connection Service' on KG Mobility's smartphone app 'INFOCONN' to link it with the TV.

The MyCar Alarm service is an example of LG Electronics expanding the customer experience know-how it has accumulated through home appliances and IT products to the mobility sector. LG Electronics plans to continue to introduce various vehicle-related services, including MyCar Alarm, that enhance customers' quality of life and transform itself from a parts manufacturer into a company that provides integrated mobility solutions.
