The ICT convergence industry, which combines existing industrial fields with ICT technology, is establishing itself as an important growth engine worldwide by enabling the creation of new values. Accordingly, organizations with relevant expertise and know-how have come together to sign a business agreement to create synergy in ICT technology and industrial development.

On the 3rd, the Radio Promotion Association of Korea (RAPA) signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Korea Information and Communications Technology Society in the fields of ICT education and on-campus mobile communications at its Mokdong office in Seoul.

This MOU for the development of the ICT industry promotes mutual business cooperation with the main contents being △utilization of experts for training of professional manpower △practical skills education △professional technology consulting and technical standards for in-house mobile communication equipment △design and supervision, etc.

Through this MOU, the RAPA Radio and Broadcasting Education Institute is expected to share the expertise and field know-how of both organizations to promote ICT convergence technology and industrial development, while also joining forces to foster professional manpower and provide practical skills education.

The Radio Broadcasting and Communications Education Center is designated as a commercialization support institution based on the 'Special Act on the Promotion of Information and Communications Technology and Activation of Convergence, etc.', and supports employment linkage along with various information and communication technology education such as △ICT △metaverse △artificial intelligence △software. It has been reported that approximately 7,400 current and prospective employees have passed through the training center each year, and that digital leading companies such as Kakao and Hyundai Autoever are currently operating academies to train prospective employees.

In addition, RAPA's Radio Environment Convergence Business Division is contributing to the establishment of a radio environment foundation through the development and operation of cooperative projects such as ▲maintenance of power facilities using a remote metering system, ▲measuring the intensity of electromagnetic waves at wireless stations, and ▲establishment of mobile communication facilities for indoor use.

We have a track record of issuing approximately 5,000 cases of agreements and design drawings related to the installation of relay facilities per year, and we are promoting business cooperation between construction and communications professionals through close external cooperation such as discussions on revisions to laws and technical standards and collecting opinions from local governments and telecommunications companies.

The Korea Information and Communications Technology Society is an organization representing over 700 information and communication technology engineers in Korea. It is responsible for engineering such as design, supervision, consulting, and advisory required for the construction and operation of all facilities based on information and communication convergence technologies such as △basic communications and architecture △information and communication networks △mobile communication networks, △smart cities △smart factories △Internet of Things △intelligent transportation systems △wireless power transmission.
RAPA Secretary General Yang Yong-yeol said, “I hope that by combining the on-site know-how and expertise of the information and communication technology society with RAPA’s business capabilities, we can achieve results in new fields,” adding, “Through this business agreement, we will strive to lead the future national industrial development in the ICT convergence industry.”He said, "I will do it."

Lee Bo-woo, Chairman of the Korea Information and Communications Technology Association, said, “RAPA’s training has been of great help in the field in reflecting mobile communication facility design in the early stages of building communication design and in applying technical standards for communication facilities.” He added, “I hope that this will be an opportunity to lead the domestic information and communication industry by successfully combining RAPA’s specialized fields and information and communication knowledge with the on-site know-how of the Korea Information and Communications Technology Association.”
