IAR announced on the 12th the latest version of its model-based design solution, IAR Visual State.

Using IAR Visual State, developers can achieve high-level designs, build complex applications, add detailed step-by-step functionality through visualization, and automatically generate C, C++, C#, or Java code that matches the design 100%.

The latest version of IAR Visual State supports low-code development with improved cross-platform support and new visualization features for rapid code generation.

IAR Visual State is particularly useful for large-scale design projects in embedded applications such as automotive instrument clusters, autonomous vehicle systems, advanced power tools, vending machines, HVAC systems, tracking systems, elevators, PLCs, and control systems. This solution provides formal verification, analysis, and testing capabilities to ensure that applications operate as originally designed.

The state chart editor and navigator have been integrated into a single application with a new look and feel and tabbed windows. This allows developers to enjoy a consistent user experience on both Windows and Linux. The latest version of IAR Visual State supports Ubuntu 18 and Ubuntu 20 on Linux.

IAR Visual State is a standalone solution, independent of toolchains and architectures. Developers can graphically design state machines, generate design-compatible source code, and automate documentation generation. When integrated into IAR Embedded Workbench®, both tools offer unique capabilities, such as real-time state machine debugging directly from the Workbench's IAR C-SPY® debugger and automatic source code processing within the IDE.
