Lexus Unveils 'The All-New Electric RZ', Its First All-New Electric Vehicle
A New Standard for Electrification, the Hybrid 'New Generation RX'

Lexus has taken its first step into the next chapter by launching its first dedicated electric vehicle and three hybrid models, while simultaneously setting out to conquer the Korean market in earnest.

Lexus held the 'RZ & RX Media Conference' at Connect To in Lotte World Mall, Jamsil on the 21st and announced the launch of its first dedicated electric vehicle, 'The All New Electric RZ,' and the hybrid car, 'New Generation RX.'

The event drew attention with the full turnout of Lexus International President Takashi Watanabe, who took office in March 2023, Lexus International RZ Chief Engineer Takaaki Ohno, Lexus Korea President Manabu Konyama, and Lexus International RX Deputy Chief Engineer Yoichiro Kasai.

This model is e-TNGBuilt on the A platform, it features an e-Axle to implement a safe and powerful DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system.

In addition, it is equipped with a 71.4kWh lithium-ion battery and a SiC inverter, achieving a maximum driving range of 377km on a single charge, and can be charged to 80% in 30 minutes via fast charging.

"The target audience for the RZ model is the middle-aged generation in their 30s and 40s," said Gam Dae-hwan, Managing Director of Lexus Korea. "It is a model for smart consumers who purchase cars for their own and their families' satisfaction, rather than for the purpose of showing off."

The 'The All New Electric RZ', announced at today's event, will be released in two grades, with prices set at 84.8 million won for the SUPREME and 92.5 million won for the LUXURY.

Executive Director Kang Dae-hwan described the 'New Generation RX' as Lexus's representative electrified SUV model that sets a new standard for electrification and achieves carbon neutrality, stating that its biggest appeal is 'providing three electrification options in a single model.'

The 'New Generation RX' is built on the GA-K platform and features a Spindle body design with a new Seamless type grille.

Based on Lexus’s vision for electrification, the three options have been launched with three powertrains: the hybrid RX 350h, the plug-in hybrid RX 450h+, and the performance-enhanced turbo engine hybrid RX 500h F SPORT Performance.

The RX 350h features specifications including a 2.5L naturally aspirated gasoline engine, a displacement of 2,487cc, a system output of 249ps, a maximum output of 187ps at 6,000rpm, 24.6kg.m of torque at 4,300–4,500rpm, and an e-CVT transmission.

The engine type, displacement, and transmission of the plug-in hybrid model RX 450h+ are the same as those of the 350h, but it differs in that it has a system output of 309 ps, a maximum output of 182 ps at 6,000 rpm, and a torque of 23.1 kg.m at 3,600 to 3,700 rpm, and can travel 56 km in electric mode on a single charge.

Notable specifications of the RX 500h F SPORT Performance model include a 2.4L gasoline turbo engine, 2,393cc displacement, 371ps system output, 275ps maximum output at 6,000rpm, 46.9kg.m maximum torque at 2,000–3,000rpm, and a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The prices for the three models were set at 97.4 million won for the RX 350h Luxury, 108.5 million won for the RX 450h+, and 115.6 million won for the RX 500h F SPORT Performance.

Lexus Korea announced that it plans to hold a road tour in Jeju Island to check the performance of the Lexus RZ, the brand's first electric vehicle, and that it will prepare to allow users to explore its design, performance, and more through a digital showroom on its website.
