KETI Leads Korea-Vietnam Advanced Technology Cooperation

The Korea Electronics Technology Institute (President Shin Hee-dong, hereinafter KETI) serves as a bridge for electronics and IT technology cooperation between Korea and Vietnam.
KETI announced on the 25th that it signed a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 23rd in Hanoi, Vietnam with the Vietnam National University of Technology (President Chu Duc Trinh, hereinafter VNU-UET) and the Korea Institute for Industrial Technology Evaluation and Management (President Jeon Yun-jong, hereinafter KEIT) to strengthen industrial technology cooperation in advanced technology fields such as electronics and IT.
Through this agreement, KETI, KEIT, and VNU-UET agreed to strengthen mutual cooperation in the field of advanced technology, including supporting the discovery of joint research, exchanging research personnel and technical information, and supporting companies in Vietnam.
KETI is a public research institute in the electronics and IT sector that supports technological innovation and the development of new technologies for small and medium-sized enterprises. It currently maintains a global R&D network with over 160 institutions and companies in 50 countries, thereby supporting domestic companies in securing necessary technologies while shortening their development periods.
KEIT is a specialized institution for the planning, evaluation, and management of domestic industrial technology R&D, and through this agreement, it is expected to play a pivotal role in Korea-Vietnam industrial technology cooperation, such as by supporting the discovery of new cooperation items between Korea and Vietnam.
Vietnam National University (VNU) is a federation of nine universities in Vietnam, among which VNU-UET is a university specializing in engineering and technology. VNU-UET leads research in Vietnam in fields such as computer science, software engineering, and network and computer communications.
Moving forward, the three institutions plan to continue discussions on industrial technology cooperation to strengthen the supply chain of advanced industries, including identifying joint research projects in the electronics and IT fields and exchanging personnel.
Particular attention is being paid to support for securing overseas markets, such as expanding the parts procurement ecosystem through domestic companies operating in Vietnam and local Vietnamese firms, in terms of global value chains (GVC) and regional value chains (RVC).
KETI President Shin Hee-dong stated, “It is meaningful that an opportunity has been created to promote industrial technology cooperation between Korea and Vietnam,” adding, “We will actively support securing emerging markets in Vietnam based on cooperation in advanced technology fields such as electronics and IT.”
Meanwhile, KETI signed a business agreement with the Vietnam Energy Research Institute and Doosan Enerbility Co., Ltd. last December for ammonia co-firing power generation and power plant modernization in Vietnam, and has been supporting the strengthening of local companies' capabilities through global R&D cooperation with Vietnam, including participating in the Korea-Vietnam Production Site Technical Guidance Center (VITASK) program since 2019.

Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.

Keysight Launches 220GHz Optical Component Analyzer… Aims at Verifying Next-Generation Optical Transceivers
Keysight Technologies has introduced the N4378A optical wave component analyzer, which can measure the characteristics of opto-electronic conversion components up to 220GHz. This equipment is targeted at the rapidly advancing data center optical interconnection market driven by AI and cloud expansion, and supports single-sweep broadband measurements at 1310nm and 1550nm wavelengths. The device focuses on enhancing measurement accuracy and design verification efficiency in the development process of next-generation 1.6T and 3.2T class optical transceivers through optical modulator and photodetector verification, differential measurements for dual-drive optical modulators, and 0.5mm coaxial connector protection structures. Keysight demonstrated this equipment for the first time at OFC 2026.
