Partnership for industrial development, including guidance on production site difficulties
Promoting the implementation, certification, and evaluation of automobile parts R&D and the dissemination and expansion of technology standards

The Korea Automotive Research Institute (hereinafter referred to as Hanjaeyeon) and the Thailand Automotive Institute (hereinafter referred to as TAI) are taking the lead in developing the automobile industries of both countries.

Yang Jeong-jik, head of the Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of Hanjayeon, and Kriengsak Wongpromrat, president of TAI, announced on Tuesday the 27th that they signed an MOU for revitalizing the automotive industry ecosystem at ATTRIC (Automotive and Tyre Testing, Research and Innovation Center) in Chachoengsao, Thailand on the 23rd (local time).

Established in 1998 by Thailand's Ministry of Industry, TAI conducts automotive research, strategic technology development, training of professional technical personnel, performance and reliability evaluations of automotive parts, and practical driving test evaluations.

This MOU is part of the Industrial Trade Cooperation Development Support Project supported by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology (KIAT) and is a technical assistance program for Thai electric vehicle production sites. The purpose is to promote strategic partnerships for the development of the automobile industry.

The detailed MOU includes plans to promote various cooperative projects, including: △performance, certification, and evaluation of automobile parts R&D; △joint planning and participation in international joint research and industrial trade cooperation and development projects (ODA); △dissemination and expansion of automobile-related technology standards; and △inter-agency workshops and personnel exchanges.

Yang Jeong-jik, head of the Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters of Hanja Yeon, said, “I hope that there will be many exchanges for the development of the auto parts industries in both countries through cooperation in various areas, such as auto parts industry research and development and related standard technologies,” and “I hope that based on the friendship and trust built through the ongoing Thailand TASK project and the MOU signing, we can further strengthen cooperation between the two countries toward a new era in the auto industry.”
