Mouser to Supply ON Semiconductor's NCN26010 Ethernet Controller

Mouser Electronics™, the industry-leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor with the widest selection of semiconductors and electronic components, today announced that it is now stocking the NCN26010 industrial Ethernet controller from Onsemi.
This new 10BASE-T1S Ethernet controller is designed to provide reliable multipoint communications in industrial environments.
The Onsemi NCN26010 is a 10Mb/s, IEEE 802.3cg compliant device that includes a Media Access Controller (MAC), PLCA Reconciliation Sublayer (RS), and 10BASE-T1S PHY and is designed for industrial multi-drop Ethernet networks.
This device reduces installation costs and configuration complexity by enabling more than 40 nodes on a single twisted pair, exceeding five times the number of nodes required by the IEEE 802.3cg standard.
The PHY + MAC controller for 10BASE-T1S allows connection to controllers, sensors, and other devices without an external MAC.
The NCN26010 significantly increases bandwidth while reducing in-cabinet wiring by up to 70%. Backplane layout and power distribution are simplified without compromising data rates or latency. This product is expected to increase data throughput compared to conventional wiring in various applications such as elevators, and to enable the construction of complex sensor networks based on simple and inexpensive cable operation due to the ability to transmit power through data cables.
The NCN26010 effectively replaces existing point-to-point and multi-point industrial communication standards. The T1S MAC/PHY device can replace RS-485, CAN, RS-232, HART, and more.
This improves data throughput compared to conventional wiring, eliminating the need for rewiring, a major expense in networking installations. The NCN26010 also features enhanced noise immunity, essential for installation in noisy industrial environments.
The NCN26010 controller is supported by the NCN26010XMNEVB 10BASE-T1S MACPHY evaluation board, the NCN26010BMNEVB adapter board, and the NCN26010XMNEVK 10BASE-T1S SPE evaluation kit, all available from Mouser.
