SK Hynix has been recognized for its excellence in its strategic materials voluntary compliance system.

SK Hynix announced on the 5th that it was the first SK Group member company to receive the highest rating of AAA for strategic material voluntary compliance traders from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

Strategic materials are items and technologies that the government controls for imports, exports, supply, and consumption for the purposes of national security, foreign policy, and domestic supply and demand management.

A strategic goods voluntary compliance trader is a company that has the ability to accurately determine whether the items it handles are strategic goods, analyze who the end users of its products are, and have a system in place to review the company's transaction contents in compliance with global trade standards.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy selects excellent companies among domestic voluntary compliance traders every year and grants them three grades, A, AA, and AAA, based on their export management capabilities. Among these, AAA is the highest rating and is awarded to companies that are exemplary in operating a voluntary compliance system.

As semiconductors become increasingly utilized across all industries, governments and companies around the world are investing significant effort in semiconductor supply chain management to prevent them from being misused for inappropriate purposes, such as weapons of mass destruction.

In line with this trend, SK Hynix has steadily invested in strategic materials and export control management systems, strengthening its export management capabilities. Designated as a voluntary compliance trader in 2005, the company achieved an AA rating in 2014 and the highest rating this year.

With SK Hynix receiving a AAA rating, the company will receive administrative benefits from the government, including shortened export permit review periods and simplified documentation.
