According to a report by market research firm Markets and Markets, the global computer vision market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 21.5%, reaching $45.7 billion (approximately KRW 60 trillion) by 2028. In particular, the acceleration of AI vision solution adoption in the automotive market is expected to lead to fierce product development competition in this market.

Coasia, a company specializing in system semiconductor design, announced on the 17th that it has signed a contract to provide AI vision processor design services with edge AI semiconductor company Ambarella (AMBA).

The semiconductor physical design services provided by Coasia in this collaboration are reportedly slated for mass production on Samsung Foundry's 5nm process for Ambarella's latest CVflow automotive AI SoC. The two companies are exploring various options for further collaboration beyond this AI vision processor collaboration.

Ambarella is a fabless company headquartered in California, USA, that primarily designs embedded products for use in low-power edge devices. As computer vision algorithms expand into video security and automotive solutions, Ambarella is focusing on developing edge AI vision semiconductors.

“This collaboration with Ambarella demonstrates Coasia’s expertise in cutting-edge automotive system semiconductors,” said Shin Dong-soo, President and Head of Coasia’s Semiconductor Division.
