Dell Technologies presented a solution to overcome obstacles hindering corporate digital innovation.

Kim Kyung-jin, General Manager of Dell Technologies Korea, said, “In a company’s journey to achieve innovation, elements such as AI, multi-cloud, edge, work environment, and security are five obstacles and opportunities,” adding, “Dell Technologies will be the best partner to help overcome these obstacles 100%.”

Dell Technologies held the 'Dell Technologies Forum 2023' at COEX in Samseong-dong on the 22nd. The event was attended by a large number of Dell employees, customers, and partners. On this day, Kim Kyung-jin, General Manager of Dell Technologies Korea, and Peter Mars, President of Dell Technologies APJ, delivered keynote speeches, and NHN Cloud and Giantstep participated as Dell's clients.

Kim Kyung-jin, General Manager of Dell Technologies Korea, emphasized people, data-driven processes that aid in decision-making, and infrastructure technologies that put them into practice for corporate innovation under the theme of 'The Current State of Innovation.'

According to the 'Innovation Index 2023' survey, 72% of domestic companies responded that they lack an innovative pipeline to prepare for the future. In the case of Korea, 27% of companies were found to be prepared to cope with the global economic downturn and supply chain issues; while this is higher than the global average of 18%, it indicates that difficulties still exist.

Major difficulties include inability to utilize acquired data in real time (65%), lack of an end-to-end security strategy (63%), complexity of the edge environment (46%), security issues (44%), and the burden of cloud costs (39%).

Peter Maas, President of Dell Technologies APJ, presented a plan to overcome obstacles and rapidly develop employees' ideas into digital innovations. President Peter Maas said, “Korea is a very innovative country, and we will help Korean companies’ businesses with Dell’s solutions.”

President Peter Maas presented 'Project Helix' to enable the practical application of generative AI worldwide. Project Helix is the result of collaboration with processors from Dell, NVIDIA, and Intel, and is a full-stack generative AI solution equipped with Large Language Models (LLM).

Dell is providing this solution to large enterprises as well as mid-sized companies. President Peter Maas said, “Dell’s PowerEdge XE9680 will be further upgraded in the second half of the year to respond to the rapid growth of the generative AI market.”
Dell emphasizes a multi-cloud strategy. Dell APEX is an IT service that provides infrastructure, such as servers and storage, on a subscription basis, and includes management solutions such as consoles and navigators.

With the recent shift toward private cloud and on-premises environments due to reasons such as the burden of public cloud costs, Dell is providing Dell APEX to enable optimal multi-cloud implementation through Ground to Cloud and Cloud to Ground strategies. President Peter Maas said, “Dell is the only company that supports seamless data movement between the cloud and the ground.”

APEX Storage collaborates with AWS and Microsoft to enable the easy use of on-premises data in public cloud environments. In particular, Light Storage offers speeds more than 100 times faster than existing solutions, while Navigator provides flexibility to support various data movements.

Dell emphasizes the edge. In Korea, where the manufacturing and healthcare markets are active, there are challenges in managing the increasing volume of data at the edge in the future. Dell’s Native Edge solution simplifies and optimizes this. President Peter Maas predicted, “Dell Native Edge will be a game changer responsible for lifecycle management, rather than just a simple device.”

Dell has also implemented Zero Trust security to counter cyber threats. “Project Fort Zero is a certified security solution already deployed in the U.S., and it will soon be introduced in Korea to provide a resilient environment,” they stated.

At the event, as a Dell customer, NHN Cloud showcased AI services implemented through Dell's solutions, including STT, TTS, virtual fitting, facial recognition (anti-spoofing), enterprise chat GPT, and avatar AI. Following AWS, which launched cloud services with the H100, NHN Cloud plans to open an 88.5 PF AI data center in Gwangju in October, which will be the second in the world to be equipped with the H100.

Kim Min-seok, Vice President of the visual content solution company Giantstep, introduced digital creative innovations in AI-based virtual humans, real-time XR content, and video VFX, and shared examples of collaboration with Dell.

Meanwhile, along with the event, 24 breakout sessions and exhibition booths for Dell Technologies' multi-cloud, SaaS, edge, security, data protection, hybrid work, and data center were operated. In addition, approximately 50 companies participated, including Dell's global partners such as Intel, Microsoft, Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, NVIDIA, SCG Solutions, Daol TS, Megazone Cloud, and Autodesk, as well as domestic distributors and key partners.
