Synology integrates enhanced security monitoring system

Synology released version 9.1.2 of Surveillance Station on the 6th, introducing enhanced integration features for third-party applications.
This strengthens the system by completely upgrading the improved developer tools to enable seamless integration of external systems with Synology Surveillance Station.
Josh Lin, Head of Surveillance at Synology, stated, “We are committed to building powerful surveillance video solutions that work alongside our customers’ existing systems. Surveillance Station functions as both an API client and server, making it a versatile integration platform. Therefore, whether embedding video streams into other platforms or overlaying external information onto recorded files, our solution can quickly provide the necessary solutions for integrating various related application systems, such as access control and AI analytics.”
FETCi, a leader in license plate recognition and RFID highway toll billing solutions, has successfully integrated the upgraded API of Synology Surveillance Station. Through collaboration with the Synology development team, the operational efficiency of FETCi's tolling solution has been significantly improved.
Synology's newly configured Surveillance Station Web API is designed to support a wider range of features and facilitate easy integration. To support development, Synology built a new interactive API documentation website and released the ChatGPT plugin, enabling the rapid generation of APIs in programming languages such as Python or Golang by entering commands through everyday conversation.
The webhook functionality has also been significantly upgraded, enabling not only the transmission of event details and snapshots from DVA video analysis results to third-party platforms but also the reception of data from external systems. This will allow users to efficiently manage various systems, sensors, and alarms from a single interface via Surveillance Station, making it easy to build a truly integrated platform.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
