Mouser Electronics™, an industry-leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor supplying the widest variety of semiconductors and electronic components, supplies wireless modules from CEL (California Eastern Laboratories) and provides optimized features and performance for Wi-Fi 6 and Matter.

Mouser announced on the 14th that it is supplying CEL's CMP961x Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® modules.

This module is based on NXP Semiconductors' IW611 and IW612 wireless SoCs (System-on-Chip) and is optimized for Matter and Wi-Fi 6 networks.

Matter is a new connectivity standard in which Apple, Amazon, Google, and hundreds of other companies are participating to support common IoT communication across smart devices in healthcare, medical devices, building automation, retail and POS terminals, security, video cameras, and smart home applications.

CEL's CMP961x module provides exceptional flexibility, enabling OEMs and users to handle applications with different requirements by utilizing lower-bandwidth protocols as well as protocols supporting longer ranges, such as Bluetooth Long Range. The CMP9612 also supports Thread and Matter standards, which are IP-based mesh networks.

In addition, this module supports coexistence for dual/triple wireless protocols, enabling the implementation of multiple networks and applications. In Wi-Fi operation mode, STA, AP, Wi-Fi Direct, or a combination of these protocols can be used.

Bluetooth 5.2 supports Bluetooth LE 2Mbps, Long Range, and Advertising Extensions, as well as profiles such as LE Audio, HFP, A2DP, and Dual WBS. Classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth LE are supported based on HCI.

Equipped with +20dBm output power, the CMP961x module provides best-in-class reach and coverage, improving throughput and reducing latency and power consumption, as well as enabling faster OTA firmware updates and enhanced network stability.

The CMP961x module is versatile and can be integrated into almost any host platform, including microcontroller or microprocessor architectures that support Android, Linux, and FreeRTOS operating systems.

This device is available as a 16.64 × 27.80 × 3.47 mm module with a PCB trace antenna or MHF4 connector, and in a small 12 × 12 mm LGA package with RF pins.
