Cloudflare: "Corporate Cloud Migration Reduces Carbon Footprint by Up to 96%"

A study found that migrating a company's network services from on-premises devices to Cloudflare services can reduce carbon emissions by up to 96%.Cloudflare, a connectivity cloud company, announced on the 26th the results of a study that showed that companies can reduce carbon emissions by up to 96% when switching network services.
The findings are part of a report from consulting firm Analysys Mason, which found that migrating enterprise network services from on-premise devices to Cloudflare's cloud-based services could reduce associated carbon emissions by up to 78% for large enterprises and up to 96% for small and midsize businesses.
The greatest reductions can be achieved through service integration, which improves carbon efficiency by leveraging servers that provide multiple network functions.
On-premises devices are designed to consume power continuously while hosting multiple workloads, but the amount of time they are actually in use is very limited.
On the other hand, cloud infrastructure is shared by millions of customers worldwide, allowing cloud providers to achieve economies of scale, reducing downtime, waste, and carbon emissions.
The report covers cloud data centersIt also highlighted the additional benefits of the high power efficiency index and the difference in carbon intensity with the local power grid.

Meanwhile, this report, released by Analysys Mason, is the first to estimate the potential carbon emissions that could be reduced by replacing corporate networks and security hardware boxes with more efficient cloud services.

Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
