On the 22nd, the Embedded Software and Systems Industry Association (KESSIA) held the '2023 Embedded Software Industry Merit Awards Ceremony and Embedded Day Year-End Party' at the Riverside Hotel in Seoul, with executives from leading embedded industry companies in attendance.

KESSIA is a private association established with the goal of promoting mutual growth in the embedded industry and contributing to the development of the industry. Its chairman is Ji Chang-geon, CEO of MDS Intelligence, and its member companies include IT specialists FA Linux, KMS Technology, Hyperverse, Bit Computer, Mathworks Korea, and MDS Tech.

The Embedded SW Industry Merit Award is held annually to discover and honor those who have contributed to the development of the embedded SW industry, which is the foundation of industrial technological innovation.

At the event, awards and plaques were presented to eight individuals (both corporate and individual) who contributed to the development of the embedded software industry.

The Minister's Award in the group category went to AYU. The company was recognized for its contributions to the national competitiveness of embedded software through the development and advancement of new technologies in the fields of social safety and mobility, reduction of socio-economic costs through the application of radar sensor source technology, and contribution to the training of embedded software personnel and industrial development.

The KESSIA Association Chairman's Award in the group category went to three companies: Ajiis, Medipharmsoft, and Ubidus.

The Minister's Award for Individual Achievement went to Bang Soo-jun, CEO of Hibus E&C. He has contributed to the revitalization of human resource development programs through participation in national human resource development projects, link projects, and socially customized projects. He also received the Minister's Award for his contributions to the advancement of embedded technology, including the development of industrial embedded systems, including national embedded systems projects, and certification and standardization activities based on these systems.

The KESSIA Association President's Award in the individual category went to three people: Professor Kim Deok-hwan of Inha University, Director of Bit Computer Center Ji-young Joo, and Managing Director of Bitsrosis Dong-guk Kim.

Chairman Ji Chang-geon said, “I sincerely congratulate all the award recipients, and I urge them to continue their efforts to lead the era of digital transformation, especially at a time when the embedded software industry desperately needs to expand and develop its future.”

Following the awards ceremony, KESSIA held a 'Year-End Night' event. At the event, Park Moon-sik, CEO of Jexagen, gave a lecture on the topic of 'Genetic Analysis and Understanding Bio for IT Developers', and a dinner was held to promote networking among member companies.

The Embedded Software and Systems Industry Association continues to actively participate in various events and policy proposals representing the embedded industry, and plans to hold regular meetings in 2024 to award industry contributions and network with member companies.

The association's secretariat announced that it will strive to revitalize the embedded industry by strengthening information sharing and communication among member companies through industrial merit awards, embedded clubs, group workshops, and member company meetings.
