NCM Battery Module Supply Contract Signed… Production of 3,000 Large Electric Commercial Vehicles
Actively fostering high value-added businesses by taking the lead in the European electric commercial vehicle market

LG Energy Solution is accelerating its conquest of the European electric commercial vehicle (bus, truck, etc.) battery market.

LG Energy Solution announced on the 8th that it signed a battery module supply contract with Polish battery pack manufacturing and sales company ICPT (Impact Clean Power Technology).

With this contract, LG Energy Solution will supply approximately 200,000 NCM battery modules to ICPT over a three-year period starting next year.

This is enough to produce approximately 3,000 large electric commercial vehicles.

ICPT will assemble the supplied modules into packs and deliver them to Solaris Bus & Coach, the number one electric bus company in Europe.

Founded in 2005, ICPT is a battery pack manufacturer and seller that operates the Gigafactory X pack and module assembly plant in Poland and has established a solid supply chain in Europe.

The two companies plan to carry out the entire process from battery manufacturing to electric bus production in Poland.It's a stroke.

LG Energy Solution will supply NCM battery modules produced at its Wroclaw, Poland plant to ICPT, which will then manufacture them into packs and supply them to Solaris Bus & Coach.

The current electric commercial vehicle market is attracting attention as a high value-added industry, with the battery capacity per vehicle being approximately 11 times higher than that of the general electric vehicle market.

LG Energy Solution is targeting the electric commercial vehicle market with its high market competitiveness, including its outstanding technological prowess and a wide range of standardized module lineups.

Typically, batteries for electric commercial vehicles require higher requirements and technological levels than batteries for general passenger cars.

This is because they have relatively long driving distances, must operate in extreme environments such as snow or rain, and must withstand energy voltages 10 times higher.
