Rockwell Automation announced today the release of firmware version 22 for its Allen Bradley Micro820, Micro850 2080-L50E, and Micro870 2080-L70E controllers.

This enables efficient commissioning of standalone equipment and supports enhanced features and improvements in the controller using the latest Connected Components Workbench software version 22 or later.

With this update, the controller provides expanded Ethernet communications to Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) applications, increasing data refresh rates and improving system connectivity and performance.

Additionally, the implicit message connectivity for Class 1 Ethernet/IP devices in run mode has been improved to minimize disconnections of critical equipment.

New PCCC(Programmable Controller) Communication Commands) feature provides the ability for the Micro870 2080-L70E controller to communicate like a MicroLogix controller.

Connected Components Workbench software version 22 supports MicroLogic's legacy address mapping and PCCC instruction set.

This allows users to reduce conversion risk and maintain legacy communication methods when modernizing their MicroLogics to the Micro800 controller.

Additionally, the release of Connected Components Workbench software version 22 complements controller enhancements to accelerate project development and system configuration. It also enhances process efficiency with bit-level annotation and daylight saving capabilities, providing a smoother and more intuitive design experience.
