Around 30 Fabless and Materials, Parts, and Equipment Startups Promote Their Technological Capabilities
An event was held to discover demand companies for fabless startups to revitalize the domestic system semiconductor ecosystem.
Startups in the system semiconductor sector held a technology exchange meeting for mutual cooperation between LG Display and LG Innotek at the ISC building in LG Science Park on the 7th.
About 30 startups related to system semiconductors participated in this event, including not only fabless companies but also those in the materials, parts, and equipment sectors.
About 80 people were present at the site, including representatives from demand companies such as LG Display, LG Innotek, and affiliates within the LG Group, as well as representatives from participating companies.
In the first part of the technology exchange meeting, 11 startups including Sapien Semiconductor, SolidView, Sugars, GLS, Exalion, Photonisol, Power LSI, Qubermotive, Ban-Am, Hunet Plus, and G-Ever introduced their technologies and products and held a Q&A session.
Afterwards, networking time took place between the demand companies and the participating companies. This exchange is expected to serve as a stepping stone for promoting future cooperation, such as the joint development of technology and products between companies.
A company representative who attended the technology exchange meeting said, “I was able to meet with representatives from potential future customers, introduce our products directly, and receive feedback, which will be very helpful for future product development.”
Professor Lee Hyuk-jae, Director of the System Semiconductor Industry Promotion Center at Seoul National University, stated, “I hope this technology exchange serves as an opportunity for mutually beneficial cooperation, allowing startups to identify the needs of client companies and fostering future joint development of technologies and products, technology transfer, and product purchasing.”
Meanwhile, the Seoul National University System Semiconductor Industry Promotion Center (SIPC) is carrying out various support programs related to funding, manpower, and demand, which startups are struggling with, through the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ Super Gap 1000+ Project Innovation Startup Package New Industry Startup Incubation Project.
