Nordic Semiconductor has reduced business uncertainty by providing transparent access to over 30 patent holders for Standard Essential Patent (SEP) licenses for LTE-M and NB-IoT cellular technologies.

Nordic announced today that it has signed a new agreement with global patent pool manager Sisvel, giving developers easy access to Sisvel's LTE-M and NB-IoT wireless technology standard license pools.

This licensing initiative will enable IoT device manufacturers to secure end-product licenses from more than 30 patent holders of LTE-M and NB-IoT SEPs through cellular module supplier Nordic in a simple and efficient manner.

This agreement addresses common licensing challenges faced by cellular developers in areas such as smart health, smart energy, smart cities, and asset tracking.

Additionally, this agreement, which provides standardized licensing, will reduce business uncertainty and allow companies to focus on developing new and innovative products and services for the IoT market.
