Easy development support in widely used bands around the world

Qorvo®, a global leader in connectivity and power solutions, is introducing a wideband, high-gain, high-linearity pre-driver, making it easier for developers to access the most widely used bands in every region of the world.

Kobo announced today the launch of its industry-leading gain pre-driver, delivering 39dB of gain at 3.5GHz and achieving +29dBm peak power.

This new Massive MIMO (mMIMO) pre-driver demonstrates Qorvo's commitment to evolving 5G technology and further strengthens its position as a leader in cellular infrastructure.

The QPA9822 is a wideband, high-gain, high-linearity driver amplifier specifically designed for 32-node mMIMO systems.

The product is designed to support wideband 5G New Radio (NR) instantaneous bandwidth of up to 530 MHz, making it ideally suited for the N77 band, which is critical for 5G network deployment and other mMIMO applications.

“Qorvo’s QPA9822 not only offers the highest gain for 5G pre-drivers on the market today, but also provides a scalable solution for 32T and 64T RF,” said Debbie Gibson, product line director for Qorvo’s Wireless Infrastructure business unit. “This allows users to easily deploy the product in widely used bands around the world for 5G mMIMO systems,” he said.

The QPA9822 is internally tuned to 50 ohms over the full operating frequency range of 3.3 to 4.2 GHz, and features quick enable/disable functionality via the VEN pin. It also provides external bias control for linearity optimization, supporting an instantaneous bandwidth of up to 530 MHz.

Housed in a compact 16-pin, 3 x 3mm SMT package, the QPA9822 is footprint and pin-compatible with the QPA9122M high-gain and high-linearity driver amplifier, enabling easy integration into existing and new designs, accelerating customers' time-to-market.

The QPA9822 and other new Qobo products will be showcased at Qobo's booth at IMS 2024, held in Washington, D.C., from June 16th to 21st (local time). For more information about Qobo's RF solutions or to schedule a meeting, please visit the Qobo IMS 2024 website.
