An event will be held where Korea's top researchers in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) will present to the public their research achievements and future technologies related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is currently the most hot topic in the ICT field.

The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) announced that it will hold the 'ETRI Conference 2024' for two days starting on the 26th at the Science and Technology Convention Center in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

The theme of this conference is 'Creating a Happy Tomorrow Through Digital Innovation: Partnering with Artificial Intelligence'.

Through this event, ETRI will host a technical session to present its achievements in four sectors that have recently become major topics of discussion: artificial intelligence, robotics, AI computing and security, and AI convergence and applications, as well as an exhibition of 22 core technologies and an innovation investment forum.

In particular, the Innovation Investment Forum to be held on the 26th is an investment briefing (IR) aimed at supporting the growth of promising companies among ETRI's technology commercialization firms by attracting follow-up investment.

ETRI President Bang Seung-chan's 'ETRI Research Achievement Presentation and Demonstration' marks the beginning of the event.

Director Bang mentioned the institute's most recent key achievements: △end-to-end speech recognition technology △autonomous growth AI will also showcase demonstrations of close-range search technology and AI scientific security.

In addition, Lee Kyung-il, CEO of Saltlux Co., Ltd., will deliver a keynote speech on the topic, "The Era of AI for ALL: What Should We Prepare for the Next Stage of AI?"

A panel discussion will follow, featuring five experts from the fields of AI, AI robots, AI computing and security, and AI convergence discussing the topic of the keynote speech.

The technical sessions begin on the afternoon of the first day with two sessions: Artificial Intelligence & Robotics and AI Computing & Security.

Focusing on the theme of this event, 'Artificial Intelligence,' ETRI's achievements in core source AI technologies such as generative visual intelligence, real-time interpretation, and AI foreign language education will be introduced.

Following this, presentations will be given on achievements regarding 'AI robots,' including robotics utilizing artificial intelligence, autonomous mobility, social robots that converse with people, and walking robots.

In the second session on the first day, ETRI will showcase a wide range of achievements in fundamental and applied AI technologies, ranging from 'AI computing,' such as on-device memory and AI semiconductors that serve as a stepping stone for innovative AI utilization, to 'AI security' for safety and security, including AI for pre-detection of crime signs and AI for user identity verification.

The second day's technology session is in the field of 'AI Convergence and Application Technology'.

ETRI presents its achievements in AI-converged application services and platforms, ranging from air mobility such as drones to manufacturing and energy, bio and medical, defense and safety, and regionally specialized industries.

Along with the technical sessions, 22 technical exhibitions will also take place.

In particular, this exhibition enhances customer immersionIt is characterized by organizing themed exhibition halls centered on applications to provide user-based exhibitions.

To allow visitors to intuitively understand the achievements and applications of ETRI's AI technology, the exhibition is organized into four zones tailored to customer needs: Home (ETRI AI for Home), Public (ETRI AI for Public), Healthcare (ETRI AI for Healthcare), and Office Space (ETRI AI for Work).

In addition, on the first day of the conference, an 'Innovation Investment Forum' will be held jointly with ETRI Holdings, the first public institution-led investment firm specializing in technology commercialization.

The Innovation Investment Forum is an Investor Relations (IR) event designed to support the growth of promising companies among ETRI's technology commercialization firms by attracting follow-up investments.

A total of 12 companies are scheduled to participate in this Innovation Investment Forum, including 6 companies in the materials, parts, and equipment and ICT sectors and 6 companies in the bio, medical, and healthcare sectors.

In addition, ETRI organized side events and designed the event as a conference for the general public.

An AI History Wall has been created to showcase ETRI's history of AI development, and at the digital portrait and "Artwork Where I Am the Protagonist" corners, visitors can experience the technology and take photos for free.

In addition, a free giveaway event for science books published by the research institute will be held.
