KT announced on the 17th that it is introducing 'Combo Internet' technology to its network, which enables the provision of 10-gigabit internet services using existing infrastructure. This technology is an international standard of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Previously, to provide 10-gigabit internet service, additional equipment had to be installed to convert and integrate optical signals. By utilizing Combo Internet technology, 10-gigabit internet service can be provided by attaching Combo Internet modules to existing infrastructure.

KT prioritizes the application of Combo Internet technology to buildings where it is difficult to install 10-gigabit Internet, based on customer needs. In addition, it improves efficiency and reduces power consumption by integrating multiple service lines into a single device.

In addition, KT predicted that Combo Internet technology would be useful for meeting the demand for AI solutions that integrate and manage all household devices, as well as for expanding video-based AI services that require high transmission capacity. KT also plans to enhance customer value by developing customized services that automatically adjust optimal speed and bandwidth by analyzing customers' internet usage patterns.
