Panasonic has adopted Siemens' Siemens Xcelerator as a Service for cloud-based digital innovation.

Siemens Digital Industries Software announced on the 7th that Panasonic Corporation (hereinafter Panasonic) is adopting Teamcenter® X to accelerate the digitalization of product development and design.

Teamcenter® X is a Software-as-a-service (SaaS) cloud product lifecycle management (PLM) solution from the Siemens Xcelerator industrial software portfolio.

Through the large-scale deployment of Siemens Xcelerator as a Service, Siemens is supporting Panasonic in integrating data management processes across product design and development, reducing lead times, and rapidly bringing high-quality products to market. By migrating legacy IT assets and existing on-premises data management to the cloud, Panasonic reduces IT infrastructure maintenance time and total cost of ownership. In addition, the goal is to enable the rapid use of updated versions of the latest PLM and IT infrastructure functions, and to allow secure system access from branches in Japan and around the world through various devices and remote access.

Panasonic eliminated its existing on-premises customized environment and rebuilt business processes based on Out Of The Box (OOTB) to rapidly migrate to Teamcenter X. Furthermore, Siemens’ Mendix™ low-code platform, tightly integrated with Teamcenter X, quickly implemented Panasonic’s unique requirements. Teamcenter X continuously integrates the latest technologies, improves operational efficiency, and enhances business resilience and continuity. It also aims to be an engineering environment capable of flexibly responding to business restructuring and user migration between departments.

Through Siemens Xcelerator as a Service, which is scalable according to customer requirements, Panasonic aims to establish a global foundation for digital twins and digital threads in the development and design domains, and to improve productivity across Panasonic's comprehensive manufacturing areas by expanding the scope of future applications.
