Mouser Electronics, a global electronic components distributor, announced today that it is stocking STMicroelectronics’ B-CAMS-IMX camera module.

The B-CAMS-IMX module, when used with the STM32 Discovery Kit and development boards, brings machine vision to applications such as industrial automation, OCR and OCV label verification, robotics, defect detection, security, and smart-home appliances.

The B-CAMS-IMX module, available from Mouser, features Sony’s high-resolution IMX335LQN image sensor. The IMX335LQN is a 6.52mm diagonal CMOS active-pixel solid-state image sensor with a square pixel array and 5.14 effective megapixels. It features an electronic shutter based on variable charge-integration time.

The B-CAMS-IMX module embeds ST’s VL53L5CX 8x8 multi-zone time-of-flight (ToF) sensor, enabling precise distance measurements under a variety of ambient lighting conditions and on a variety of cover glass materials. Additionally, the ISM330DLC iNEMO® 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) is also installed.

The ISM330DLC is a high-performance 3D digital accelerometer and 3D digital gyroscope optimized for Industry 4.0 applications. The module provides excellent accuracy and stability with ultra-low power consumption, extending the life of battery-powered applications.

B-CAMS-IMX can be used with any STM32 board supporting the 22-pin FFC connector and the MIPI CSI-2® interface, and can also be added to custom designs.
