Telit Partners with Google to Host 'The 1st IoT Big Data Challenge,' an IoT App Development Competition Utilizing Google Cloud Platform

Seoul, December 4, 2014 Telit Wireless Solutions (CEO Derek Sang, www.telit.com , hereinafter Telit), a company specializing in IoT (Internet of Things) module and platform services, announced today that it is holding the "1st IoT Big Data Challenge," an IoT application development competition utilizing the Google Cloud Platform for developers worldwide, in cooperation with Google to foster the IoT industry.
The IoT Big Data Challenge was launched in collaboration with Telit and Google with the aim of maximizing the new opportunities and potential brought about by the combination of connected sensors and devices with cloud computing technology. This competition is a development contest for web and mobile applications based on various connected sensors and devices, and is open to developers worldwide. Google Cloud Platform is provided to competition participants to support IoT data collection for the development of competitive solutions.
The IoT Big Data Challenge presents participants with three categories—Business Transformation, Healthy and Happy Living, and The Good of Mankind—and encourages the development of broader and more innovative applications. The judging panel reviews all submitted products and selects winners based on various criteria, including innovation, commercial impact, and public benefit. The IoT Big Data Challenge is open to individuals, teams, and organizations worldwide, and finalists will participate in the finals held in North America and Europe.

The project submission deadline is January 9, 2015. Winners for the Asia and US regions will be announced at the deviceWISE Global Summit Miami on January 27, and winners for the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions will be announced at the Google Cloud Platform event in London on February 3.
