Silicon Labs announced that its latest MG26 wireless SoC family is now in global production volumes.

The product is recognized as the industry’s most advanced Matter and multi-protocol support solution, providing developers with more powerful performance, security, and AI/ML capabilities.

It is particularly focused on smart home applications, helping to dramatically improve the efficiency and connectivity of battery-powered devices.

The MG26 SoC features twice the flash memory and RAM of its predecessor, enabling it to support larger and more sophisticated machine learning models.

It also has built-in AI/ML hardware accelerators to achieve high processing speeds with low power, and can be usefully utilized in IoT applications such as preventive maintenance and anomaly detection.

At the same time, multi-protocol functionality is also attracting attention. By simultaneously supporting various networks including Matter and Zigbee, users can easily integrate devices across different ecosystems and implement automation.
