SanDisk is setting out to expand its high-performance storage solution market for the AI era by meeting not only NVMe SSD specifications for data centers but also key criteria such as product efficiency, openness, scalability, and sustainability.

SanDisk announced on the 16th that its PCIe® Gen5-based high-performance enterprise SSD, the 'SANDISK® SN861 NVMe™ SSD,' has received official OCP certification™ from the Open Compute Project (OCP).

With the surge in demand for AI and machine learning-based applications, high-performance SSDs capable of handling computationally intensive workloads are becoming essential infrastructure for hyperscale, cloud, and enterprise data centers.

The SanDisk SN861 NVMe™ SSD supports a large capacity of up to 16TB and provides performance optimized for key stages of the AI data cycle, such as model training, interface prompt processing, and inference engines.

This product is designed for ultra-low latency environments to achieve fast response speeds and minimize delays for mission-critical tasks.

In addition, the low-power design improves IOPS performance per watt, contributing to a reduction in the total cost of ownership (TCO). The SSD supports U.2 and E1.S form factors and can also be found on the OCP Marketplace.
