Rainbow Robotics, a robotics company, has recognized the technological prowess, stability, and platform expandability of its AI-based quadruped robot, the 'RBQ Series.'

Rainbow Robotics announced on the 17th that its 'RBQ Series' was selected as one of the 'Top 10 Machine Technologies of the Year in Korea 2025'.

It is a highly maneuverable quadruped robot platform that can move stably even on rough and uneven terrain, and its core technology is the ability to flexibly switch between dynamics-based walking and reinforcement learning-based AI walking.

The vehicle's environmental awareness and autonomous driving capabilities are also noteworthy. By integrating 3D LiDAR, a depth camera, and a proprietary PTZ camera module, it avoids obstacles and supports schedule-based autonomous driving and autonomous return-to-recharge functions. Furthermore, the actuator, which integrates the motor, reducer, and controller into one unit, features a fanless structure that minimizes heat generation, enhancing durability and waterproofing.

The RBQ series can be customized to meet the needs of various fields such as national defense, security, public safety, and disaster relief, and its scope of application is gradually expanding through verification stages such as the defense rapid demonstration project. Through this, we plan to strengthen our competitiveness with next-generation robotics technology that contributes to strengthening the social safety net and advancing industrial automation.

This award was selected from 31 technologies through an online public vote held throughout September. Rainbow Robotics was the only quadrupedal robot platform to receive the award. The awards ceremony took place on the 13th at the "2025 Machine Day" event held at the Grand Hall of the El Tower in Seoul.
