Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI) today announced a 10U air-cooled server featuring AMD's latest data center GPU, the Instinct MI355X.

This new product significantly enhances AI and inference workload performance and is designed to enable enterprises to achieve advanced AI performance even in air-cooled environments.

Supermicro expands its AMD Instinct MI350 series GPU-based product line with this launch.

The MI355X GPU provides 288GB of HBM3e memory and 8TB/s of bandwidth per GPU, and its TDP has increased from 1000W to 1400W, achieving up to 4x the AI computing performance and up to 35x the inference performance compared to the previous generation. This can significantly increase the speed of large-scale data processing and AI inference.

This 10U air-cooled server leverages industry-standard OCP accelerator modules (OAMs) for enhanced scalability and compatibility, and is designed to efficiently scale performance per rack across both air-cooled and liquid-cooled infrastructures. Supermicro said this will enable it to support large-scale AI and HPC workloads across cloud service providers and enterprise environments.

In particular, the combination of Supermicro's DCBBS (Data Center Building Block Solutions) architecture and AMD's latest 4th-generation CDNA architecture allows customers to simultaneously secure proven infrastructure and cutting-edge GPU performance. This is considered a key element in achieving both performance and efficiency in next-generation data center construction.

This product line expansion is strategically significant for Supermicro, strengthening its position in the AI server market while broadening its GPU ecosystem through collaboration with AMD. To meet the rapidly growing compute demands in the AI/HPC market, both companies are offering customers a wide range of options, encompassing both air-cooled and liquid-cooled systems.
