STMicroelectronics (hereafter referred to as ST), a global semiconductor company, has begun to foster future talent in the electrical and electronics fields, including semiconductors.

On the 3rd, ST signed a business agreement with Dankook University at the Jukjeon Campus of Dankook University to promote the Gyeonggi-do RISE (Regional Innovation System & Ecosystem) project, and began to actively participate in the establishment of an industry-academia cooperation and research and development system in the semiconductor field.

The signing ceremony was attended by ST Korea Branch Manager Park Jun-sik, Headquarters Manager Jeon Seong-hwan, Headquarters Manager Lee Dong-gu, and HR Manager Kim Hee-sun, and from Dankook University, President Ahn Soon-chul, Vice President for Academic Affairs Kim Oh-young (Director of Dankook G-RISE Project), Vice President for Industry-Academic Affairs Oh Jwa-seop, and DB-GAIA Center Director Lee Jun-seok.

ST is a global supplier of advanced industrial semiconductors for automotive electronics, power semiconductors, and edge AI. It currently operates in 40 countries and employs approximately 50,000 people.

Through this agreement, ST will: △establish RISE in Gyeonggi Province; △participate in joint R&D projects; and △train next-generation semiconductor and power semiconductor experts. We are pursuing various collaborative projects, including program operation.

ST goes beyond simply supplying semiconductors; it focuses on directly nurturing talent to lead future industries.

This is part of our strategy to fulfill our social responsibility as a global company and build an innovation ecosystem that grows together with the local community.

On the day of the signing ceremony, ST conducted a global education program called 'STEM your way' for Dankook University students.

Students experienced firsthand the STM32-based development environment and practical training similar to industrial settings.

Through hands-on training and semiconductor experience programs, students were able to develop practical industrial application skills beyond simple theory.

This program is a representative educational project operated by ST worldwide, providing young people with opportunities to experience semiconductor technology firsthand and laying the foundation for them to grow into global talent.

Through this agreement, ST plans to not only actively contribute to fostering semiconductor talent in Korea, but also expand the scope of cooperation to semiconductor application fields such as mobility and AI.

This is expected to play a significant role in establishing an innovation platform across advanced industries, in conjunction with the RISE project being promoted in conjunction with Dankook University.
