STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, today announced two new NB-IoT modules and an expanded development ecosystem, marking its aggressive push into the global IoT market.
ST announced on the 12th that it has released two new ST87M01 NB-IoT wireless modules.
Along with this, we unveiled an enhanced development ecosystem designed to simplify the development of smart IoT solutions based on narrowband cellular connectivity.
The new products include two models: the ST87M01-1001, which supports NB-IoT narrowband cellular data connectivity, and the ST87M01-1301, which adds GNSS and Wi-Fi-based positioning capabilities.
Through this, ST provides an all-in-one IoT solution that combines ultra-low power consumption, miniaturization, reliability, and security features, supporting a scalable IoT environment in the global market.
“ST is taking the next step in bringing its module technology and supply chain to diverse markets,” said Domenico Arrigo, General Manager, Application Specific Analog Products Division, STMicroelectronics. “This solution helps enable a secure and scalable IoT.”
EVKITST87M0 released with new productThe 1-2 evaluation kit provides a platform to immediately prototype and test NB-IoT connectivity, including a Conexa IoT SIM card and two SMA antennas.
Additionally, ST's Easy-Connect software library enables rapid configuration and implementation of NB-IoT, GNSS, and Wi-Fi capabilities on an OS-independent platform.
The Connexa IoT SIM provides 50MB of data for six months after user activation and supports NB-IoT connectivity in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.
The Connexa network, operated by Wireless Logic, an ST Authorized Partner, provides extensive coverage and ensures a future-proof NB-IoT environment.
ST collaborates with specialized partners such as Ignion and DAOS to help customers shorten development periods and optimize performance.
Ignion simplifies RF design and increases predictability through its Virtual Antenna™ technology and AI-powered Oxion™ platform.
Daos shortens the time to market for IoT projects by supporting the entire process from hardware and software design to production.
ST unveiled its new product at Enlit Europe 2025, Europe's largest energy exhibition held in Bilbao, Spain, last November.
Key demos included utility-grade connected water meters, MEMS sensor-based smart streetlights, GNSS and Wi-Fi asset tracking, and the ST4SIM-300 eSIM module, showcasing the future of IoT connectivity.

Global semiconductor company STMicroelectronics (hereinafter ST) conducted the STEM your way program at Dankook University's Jukjeon Campus on the 3rd.
