Nota (CEO Chae Myeong-su), a company specializing in AI model lightweighting and optimization, is participating in the construction of an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) in Nairobi, Kenya, and is taking a full-scale step toward transportation innovation in Africa, following the Middle East.

Nota announced on the 16th that it will supply a smart intersection system in cooperation with Hanil STM for the traffic control center project led by LG CNS and promoted by Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA).

Nota's core technology is to reduce the computational load and memory usage of AI models, enabling them to operate efficiently in edge environments.

This technology, optimized for low-power and low-latency environments, analyzes vehicle classification, traffic volume, and queues in real time from on-site CCTV without server intervention.

This technology enables simultaneous management of multiple CCTV channels with a single edge device, and helps improve traffic flow by immediately analyzing intersection conditions. Additionally, it reduced server costs and ensured system operation stability.

Nota has already been recognized for its technological prowess through domestic ITS performance evaluations and local government projects.

It has achieved the highest grade in the ITS basic performance evaluation, and has successfully completed the Yeongcheon ITS reinforcement project, achieving an average performance of 99.5% in all items.

These achievements are expected to provide high reliability to the Nairobi project as well.

Nota has already achieved various successes in the Middle East and North America, expanding its presence in the global ITS market.

We have partnered with ATS, a transportation infrastructure company in the United Arab Emirates, and have discussed a contract to supply ITS solutions to the Dubai Transport Authority and the Abu Dhabi Transport Authority ITS construction project. We have also collaborated with Sony to successfully verify pedestrian safety support and traffic volume analysis in the Lakewood area of the United States.

With its participation in this Kenya Nairobi project, Nota is expanding its technology application to the African market and establishing itself as a global ITS innovation company.
