Ukraine has significantly expanded its cooperation with European defense technology leader ICEYE to strengthen its space-based intelligence capabilities.

iSai announced on the 22nd that it signed a new agreement with an agency under the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense to expand the scope of its high-resolution satellite imagery service using the world's largest SAR (synthetic aperture radar) satellite constellation.

Through this agreement, Ukraine will continuously receive high-resolution day/night, all-weather imagery generated by SAR satellites operated by iSai.

This is expected to significantly improve the ability to secure information, which is essential for making rapid tactical decisions in a battlefield environment.

Since 2022, iSai has been providing SAR-based intelligence to Ukraine, demonstrating that space-based intelligence is not just a strategic asset, but a key tool for real-time tactical decision-making.

This agreement expands access to data, enabling Ukraine to more quickly and accurately assess changes in the situation on the ground.

In particular, the short revisit cycle of SAR satellites plays a significant role in reducing uncertainty in the operational environment.

Because SAR technology does not rely on sunlight but uses radar pulses to create images, it is stable even at night and in situations where optical satellites have difficulty observing due to clouds or smoke.Provides enemy information.

These characteristics are well suited to the Ukrainian tactical environment, which requires continuous surveillance under various weather conditions.

iSai currently operates fourth-generation SAR satellites, offering industry-leading resolutions of up to 16 cm. Furthermore, the satellites feature a Scan Wide mode capable of observing a 200 km x 300 km area at a time, as well as high-speed imaging capabilities based on electronic beam steering, enabling them to capture dozens of high-resolution images in just a few minutes.
