Vector Korea announced on the 27th that starting with version 19 of its automotive and industrial embedded system test solution 'CANoe', it will provide the 'Model Option Electric Motor' feature, which allows motor control units to be tested early in a pre-configured environment.
This feature is characterized by providing a pre-configured physics simulation model to verify the operation of the electric motor control unit even before the actual hardware is ready.
CANoe 19 is an ECU and embedded system test solution that supports not only software-based testing in a virtual environment but also testing involving actual hardware.
The electric motor model option includes physics simulation models corresponding to various motor types, such as permanent magnet synchronous motors, brushless DC motors, induction motors, and conventional DC motors.
This model configures a control loop to provide realistic input signals to the control unit under test, and is designed to perform tests without high voltage or high current based on a signal level interface.
Also, high-frequency pulse width modulationThe company explained that it runs on the FPGA of Vector's multi-IO module VT5838 based on arcs, which enables not only verification of normal operation but also error injection testing.
Pre-configured models can be loaded with a single click, and parameter adjustments are also supported to match actual motor characteristics in the CANoe environment.
This feature can be utilized in the development of control units for automotive and industrial actuators and drive motors, and can also be applied to system-level verification by linking with DYNA4, a vehicle virtual driving simulation environment.
