ASUS Korea has launched the PE1000U, an ultra-compact edge AI computer for use in autonomous robots (AMRs), robotics, and computer vision applications. Designed to process equipment control signals, video, and sensor data on-site in environments where robots simultaneously perform movement, perception, and control.

On February 11th, ASUS Korea announced the launch of the PE1000U. The company stated that the new product features the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processor, supporting hybrid acceleration based on CPU, GPU, and NPU. This aimed to achieve a configuration capable of simultaneously handling multithreaded processing, AI inference, and graphics workloads required for motion control.

In industrial settings, dust, vibration, and temperature fluctuations directly impact equipment stability. The PE1000U features a fanless design with an aluminum heatsink and an IP40-rated sealed chassis to reduce dust ingress. It also meets the MIL-STD-810H standard, withstanding vibration conditions of up to 5 Grms, and has an operating temperature range of -25 to 70°C.

In terms of installation and connectivity, it measures 63×110×160mm and features a DIN rail mount, targeting limited spaces such as inside control panels. It supports up to four COM ports and four Ethernet ports, along with four front USB ports, with two 2.5GbE ports standard. It also includes a dual CAN bus and isolated DIO module for on-site control. For monitoring purposes, up to two 4K displays can be connected via DisplayPort and HDMI.

Considering the vehicle installation environment, it supports 9~36V DC input and has a built-in ignition control function. It also supports Wi-Fi 6E and 5G, making communication configuration with LiDAR, cameras, and vehicle management platforms a consideration.
