ASML Korea has opened its "Global Training Center Korea" on its Hwaseong campus in Gyeonggi Province, equipped with DUV and EUV equipment, modules, and a cleanroom. This 3,100-square-meter facility, which integrates training capabilities previously operated in the Hwaseong office and Yongin, will serve as a training hub for semiconductor equipment engineers.

On February 23rd, ASML Korea held an opening ceremony at its Hwaseong campus and unveiled its center's operational plans. The event was attended by executives, including CEO Choi Han-jong and Global Training Center Korea Manager Kim Nam-yoon, as well as industry representatives.

The center was built to address the increasing difficulty of equipment operation due to the advancement of semiconductor processes. Featuring approximately 20 classrooms and 25 dedicated instructors, it offers over 130 programs, including the advanced EUV course "Fab Ready 2." Equipped with equipment including an actual operating EUV module and a cleanroom, the center provides hands-on training under conditions similar to those experienced in the field.

Manager Kim Nam-yoon said that approximately 4,000 people are expected to receive training at the center annually. He explained that by conducting training domestically, time and cost can be saved and engineering capabilities can be systematically improved.

ASML plans to add training on High-NA EUV, considered the next-generation exposure equipment, to its curriculum. The company plans to expand lectures and practical training programs not only for CS engineers but also for customers.

ASML has been investing in engineer training since establishing its "Hands-On Academy" in Korea in 2010. The company has been gradually expanding its training infrastructure, including opening a global EUV training center in Dongtan in 2018 and expanding its Advanced EUV training center in Yongin in 2023.
