A domestic security startup has commercialized OT (Operational Technology) endpoint authentication, a challenge that even global OEMs have struggled to implement, through industrial field demonstrations. With the accelerating digital transformation of manufacturing and energy facilities and the increasing cyber threats targeting OT assets like PLCs and HMIs, this achievement is considered significant in that it has been verified based on actual production processes.

On February 25th, Senstone announced that it had signed a contract to supply OT endpoint identification and authentication security solutions to a leading domestic energy solutions company in the global battery manufacturing market. The two companies have been jointly verifying the technology in real-world manufacturing environments for over a year.

The company, believing that existing commercial solutions would not meet its field needs, opted to validate its prototype technology in a field testbed. Senstone iteratively improved its functionality in a production facility environment, raising its Technology Maturity Level (TRL) to Level 9.

Industrial hardware company M2I Corporation (M2I) participated in the commercialization process. The "OTAC Trusted Access Gateway (TAG)," jointly developed by the two companies, is designed with an integrated hardware and software architecture. In addition to these large corporations, the product is also being supplied to public corporations operating domestic water treatment facilities, expanding its scope of application.

Senstone is expanding its market presence by leveraging its One-Time Authentication Code (OTAC)-based authentication technology. The company recently signed a domestic distribution agreement with TOCSG, a specialist IT and OT security company, and launched its OT endpoint security business in earnest.

CEO Yoo Chang-hoon explained that this contract is an example of technology perfected through long-term on-site collaboration, and stated that the company will focus on advancing security technology applicable to industrial and OT environments in the future.
