Airwallex, a global financial platform company, has signed a multi-year partnership with the San Francisco Giants, a Major League Baseball (MLB) team. Under the agreement, Airwallex will serve as a patch partner, displaying its brand on the team's uniforms, and as the official financial software provider, supporting financial operations.

The two companies announced the signing of the contract on February 18 (local time) in San Francisco, USA. The agreement comes amidst growing collaboration between clubs and corporations following MLB's decision to allow uniform patch advertising starting in the 2023 season.

Airwallex provides a solution that automates the Giants' financial operations, including expense management, billing, and payment processing. The team is implementing corporate card management and expense control systems, and plans to expand the scope of its application to include payment processing in the future.

This collaboration was explained as part of the Giants' ongoing strategy to enhance their financial infrastructure. The club aims to improve operational efficiency for high-value transactions, such as season suite sales and on-site private events.

Founded in Australia in 2015, Airwallex currently operates a dual headquarters system with its global headquarters in San Francisco and Singapore. The company announced that its annualized sales exceeded $1 billion (approximately 1.3 trillion won).

Airwallex announced plans to invest approximately $1 billion in the US market over the next three years and double its workforce in the San Francisco area. This agreement is seen as aligned with this expansion strategy in the US.

In an official announcement, Giants President and CEO Larry Baer described the partnership as strengthening both regional presence and global expansion.
