Nordic Semiconductor, a specialist in low-power wireless connectivity solutions, is embarking on the development of a next-generation access control solution based on global standards that offers security and interoperability for commercial and residential environments.

Nordic announced on the 3rd that it has introduced a reference design for an access control system that supports both the Aliro and Matter standards.

This release coincides with the announcement of the 1.0 specification for Ali.

This reference design is provided as a door lock and access control add-on for the nRF Connect SDK, along with hardware and software specifications that meet Aliro and Matter certification.

Alilo is a mobile credential standard developed by the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA), and is characterized by its ability to operate identically across various devices and manufacturer environments without the need for physical keys or cards.

It supports multiple wireless technologies, including Bluetooth LE, UWB, and NFC, allowing developers to flexibly choose according to their application environment.

This reference design presented by Nordic is designed to enable implementation of Alilo and Matter together, focusing on reducing integration complexity and compatibility issues that arise in existing access control systems.

Matter provides remote locking and unlocking, user permission management, and smart It provides stable control functions such as home platform linkage, making it an essential element in smartphone-based access control environments.
