LG Electronics will join the 6G industry collaboration announced by Qualcomm and begin collaborating on connected car communication technology.

On March 2nd, local time, at MWC Barcelona 2026 (March 2nd-5th, Fira Gran Via) held in Barcelona, Spain, Qualcomm unveiled the 'Global 6G Coalition', and LG Electronics announced its participation.

At the exhibition, LG Electronics unveiled a vehicle communications solution that integrates a Telematics Control Unit (TCU) and an antenna for receiving multiple signals into a single structure. The company proposed a way to improve in-vehicle packaging and system configuration efficiency through an integrated design.

This year's MWC was also marked by the debut of LG Electronics' VS Division. LG Electronics announced its intention to expand opportunities for collaboration with automakers and telecommunications companies in the connected mobility market.

The collaboration between the two companies continues in the area of automotive computing. LG Electronics announced that it will unveil its 'AI Cabin Platform' that applies generative AI at CES 2026 (January 6-9, Las Vegas), and explained that it is based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Cockpit Elite.

The industry is noticing a growing trend, particularly at exhibition venues, of collaborations aimed at securing both communication modules and high-performance computing as vehicle functions shift toward software and data processing.
