Nordic Semiconductor is accelerating its global market conquest by launching its next-generation cellular IoT strategy at MWC 2026.

Nordic announced on the 5th that it has launched a large number of new products at MWC 2026.

The company, a leader in low-power wireless connectivity, unveiled a massive portfolio of new products spanning LTE-M, NB-IoT, satellite NTN, and edge AI, laying out its blueprint for reliably connecting billions of IoT devices.

With this announcement, Nordic significantly strengthens its existing nRF91 series while introducing the all-new nRF92 and nRF93 cellular product families.

This broadly targets markets that require long battery life and global connectivity, such as smart metering, asset tracking, industrial sensors, and wearables.

The nRF92 series, which supports next-generation LTE-M, NB-IoT, and satellite NTN, boasts an ultra-compact design and top-tier power efficiency.

It integrates high-performance application MCUs, ultra-low-power edge AI, multi-satellite GNSS, and Wi-Fi-based positioning capabilities to enable stable operation even in complex IoT environments.

The product is currently Samples are being provided to major customers, and mass production is scheduled for early 2027.

The nRF93 series, based on LTE Category 1 bis, delivers download speeds of up to 10Mbps and global LTE support while maintaining Nordic's signature low power characteristics.

Suitable for a wide range of applications, including asset management, security systems, gateways, and consumer devices, it integrates with the nRF Cloud to easily implement remote updates and device management functions. This module is expected to be available from mid-2026.

The existing nRF91 series also adds satellite NTN connectivity and sub-GHz fallback capabilities, increasing usability even in environments with limited network accessibility.

Additionally, the nRF91M1 in smart modem form factor was also released for customers seeking easy integration.

Nordic is also focusing on the long-term development of 5G eRedCap technology. This roadmap, aimed at ultra-low-power 5G connectivity, is expected to further expand the scope of future IoT applications.

The company's strategy is to establish itself as a key partner in the global IoT ecosystem through integrated solutions spanning from chips to the cloud.
