As Lam Research Korea has been selected as the parent company for the government's safety and health mutual cooperation project, it is stepping up to strengthen on-site safety management systems in collaboration with domestic partner companies responsible for equipment installation and maintenance at semiconductor manufacturing sites. The company plans to reduce hazardous and dangerous factors that may occur during work processes by conducting joint inspections and risk assessments with partner companies, and to promote the establishment of safety standards applicable to industrial sites.

Lam Research Korea announced on March 23 that it has been selected as the parent company for the 2026 Large and Small Business Safety and Health Win-Win Cooperation Project, organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency. This project is a system in which the government provides technical and financial support to companies with 100 or more employees that form a consortium with partner companies or local small and medium-sized enterprises to promote activities aimed at improving safety and health standards.

This consortium includes five domestic partner companies: U&I Net, Inspro, Aist, GT, and B2B Engineering. These companies perform equipment loading, unloading, installation, inspection, and maintenance tasks at semiconductor manufacturing sites. Given the nature of the work, there is a significant need for a joint response, as pre-inspection of site-specific risk factors and standardized response systems are critical. Lam Research Korea plans to share relevant standards and practical know-how with its partners, based on its experience in environmental, health, and safety operations.

The project is driven by strengthening the execution of risk assessments, on-site safety inspections, and activities to identify and improve near-miss incidents. The key is to establish a management system that can be applied universally to multiple partner companies, rather than merely raising the safety management standards of individual firms. This reflects the judgment that preventive management prior to work is crucial, given that semiconductor equipment service operations require both precision and speed.

This selection is an extension of the achievements Lam Research Korea accumulated last year. The company was selected as a representative excellent partner in the Safety and Health Win-Win Cooperation Project organized by Samsung Electronics in 2025, and in February 2026, it jointly received a certificate of recognition as an excellent company from the Minister of Employment and Labor. In essence, the experience gained from participating as a partner company has led to its role as a parent company this year.

The semiconductor industry is a field where the sophistication of production facilities and the complexity of on-site operations are increasing simultaneously. Accordingly, ensuring that equipment manufacturers and service partners operate safety and health systems under the same standards has emerged as a critical task for securing the overall stability and sustainability of the industry. Lam Research Korea's participation in this project can be seen as an attempt to move beyond safety management at the individual company level and establish a safety culture across the entire collaborative network.
