Samsung Electronics has completed its PC lineup, ranging from premium to standard models, by launching the new 'Galaxy Book 6' laptop with enhanced AI capabilities in the domestic market. This move effectively expands performance, portability, and purchasing options to align with the growing demand for high-performance tasks and everyday AI usage.

Samsung Electronics announced that it launched the 'Galaxy Book 6' in Korea on April 1. This product is a standard model added to the lineup following the 'Galaxy Book 6 Ultra' and 'Galaxy Book 6 Pro' unveiled last January, completing the entire 'Galaxy Book 6 series' lineup in Korea. The product is sold through online and offline channels, including Samsung Stores nationwide, Samsung.com, and open markets.

The new product is characterized by enhanced performance for AI-based tasks and multitasking through the application of Intel's latest 'Core Ultra Series 3 processors.' Equipped with an NPU capable of up to 49 TOPS, it enables more stable processing of functions such as image editing and real-time translation, and also supports data search and setting changes within the PC based on natural language. Samsung Electronics explained that this expands the scope of AI utilization in learning and work environments.

Battery life and portability have also been enhanced. It offers up to 24 hours of video playback on a full charge, and the 14-inch model measures 14.9mm in thickness and weighs 1.43kg. The design emphasizes balance with a center-aligned touchpad and a two-tone keyboard, and it is equipped with expansion ports including two USB Type-C ports, two Type-A ports, HDMI, a microSD card slot, and a wired LAN port. The ability to connect peripherals without separate adapters is also cited as a feature of practical convenience.

The 'Galaxy Book 6' will be released in two sizes, 16-inch and 14-inch, with prices ranging from 1.6 million won to 2.51 million won depending on the specifications. It comes in two colors: gray and silver. On the same day, Samsung Electronics also unveiled a new 'Galaxy Book 6 Ultra' model featuring Intel integrated graphics, in addition to the existing external graphics model. This product will be released in a single specification with an 'Intel Core Ultra Series 7 Processor,' 32GB of memory, and 1TB of storage, priced at 3.69 million won.

Changes are also appearing in purchasing methods. According to Samsung Electronics, the number of customers who purchased PCs through the 'AI Subscription Club' in the first quarter of this year increased by approximately three times compared to the fourth quarter of last year. About 25% of PC customers at Samsung Stores chose this method. The product is available in 24-, 36-, and 48-month plans, and in addition to the standard one-year warranty, it extends the free warranty for the duration of the subscription and provides damage coverage. This is interpreted as a trend reflecting the demand to lower the initial cost burden of high-end AI PCs.
