Ecolab ranked 9th on the '2025 AIQ 50' announced by Fortune. Ecolab is the only chemical company among the 50 selected firms.

Fortune introduced the AIQ 50 for the first time in 2025 and selected top companies by comprehensively evaluating the level of AI adoption and utilization performance among Fortune 500 companies.

This evaluation focused on how closely companies have integrated AI into their actual operations and performance. Fortune explained that it calculated the rankings by reflecting internal assessments, peer evaluations, and influence within the industry.

Ecolab has been expanding its data utilization based on its industrial water management solution '3D TRASAR' and digital platform 'ECOLAB3D'. This solution is designed to monitor water quality and operating conditions within the process in real time, and to automatically control chemical injection and equipment operation. This supports both water usage reduction and equipment efficiency improvement simultaneously.

Data collected from the field is integrated with a cloud-based platform to continuously analyze operational status and detect anomalies. Based on this, it predicts maintenance timing and enables the integrated management of water usage, energy consumption, and asset performance.

Ecolab is expanding these data-driven operations beyond the realm of water management. In response to the recent increase in demand for AI data centers, the company is strengthening its thermal management capabilities by pursuing the acquisition of CoolIT Systems, a company specializing in liquid cooling.

Ecolab’s inclusion in the Fortune AIQ 50 is interpreted as the result of applying AI not as a standalone technology, but as a means to improve industrial operational efficiency. At the same time, the trend of expanding from water management-centric businesses into data-driven operations and infrastructure is also continuing.
