The Ministry of SMEs and Startups is embarking on a full-scale transition of public services to utilize artificial intelligence. The plan is to redesign the entire administrative system around AI to enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and micro-enterprises to access government support policies more easily and quickly.

At the 7th Ministerial Meeting on Science and Technology held on the 16th, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups unveiled the 'Public AX (AI Transformation) Transformation Plan' and announced that it would establish an integrated system that links the entire process from policy access to application and execution into one.

Until now, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners had to access different systems for each support program, and it took a considerable amount of time to find policies that suited them. To resolve these inconveniences, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to transform the entire structure into an AI-based digital administration.

The most notable change is the introduction of the 'SME Integrated Platform'.

With this platform set for a pilot operation next month, users can check and apply for all support programs from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups with just a single login.

User convenience is expected to be significantly improved as additional features, such as certificate management and MyData integration, are also provided. In the mid-to-long term, the plan is to enhance accessibility by integrating systems scattered across ministries and affiliated organizations by function.

AI agents dedicated to small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners are deployed during the application phase.

This AI analyzes users' policy interests, consultation history, and company characteristics to recommend customized support programs and guides them through announcement schedules and procedures. It also plays a role in reducing the administrative burden by supporting the preparation of policy fund applications and research and development plans.

It also put effort into creating an AI utilization ecosystem.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to expand the opening of public data to support startups in developing AI services utilizing it, and to link outstanding projects to actual policy initiatives.

AI tool training for small business owners and support for the creation of customized marketing content will also be promoted.

Internal administrative innovation is also being carried out in parallel.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups aims to enhance administrative efficiency by utilizing its data to precisely analyze policy effectiveness and automating repetitive tasks.

Noh Yong-seok, First Vice Minister of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, said, “The transition to Public AX is a key task to enable small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners to feel the effects of policies,” adding, “We will establish a full-cycle support system centered on an integrated platform and actively open up unrestricted data to continuously create innovative services.”
