AMD has officially launched the 'Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 Dual Edition,' a desktop processor featuring the world's first dual 3D V-Cache technology.

This product is designed primarily for developers and creators handling complex computations and latency-sensitive workloads, and is priced at $899 in the U.S.

The Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 is based on the latest Zen 5 architecture and features a 16-core, 32-thread configuration with a maximum boost clock of 5.6GHz.

In particular, the most significant feature is the 'Dual V-Cache structure' equipped with 3D V-Cache on both CCDs.

Compared to the existing X3D series, which applied 3D V-Cache to only a single CCD, performance improvement is expected in tasks that rely heavily on cache.

The L3 cache reaches 192MB, and the total cache capacity is 208MB, recording overwhelming figures even among products in the same class.

The basic power design is set to a 200W TDP, and AMD recommends using a liquid cooler for optimal performance.

The maximum operating temperature is 95 degrees, and it also supports overclocking features such as Precision Boost Overdrive and Curve Optimizer.

The manufacturing process is based on TSMC's 4nm FinFET, The I/O die uses a 6nm process.

Platform compatibility is also a strength.

Based on the AM5 socket, it supports a wide range of chipsets from A620 to X870E, allowing existing AM5 users to upgrade without replacing their motherboard.

It supports up to 256GB of DDR5 memory and provides PCIe 5.0 lanes by default to support next-generation storage and graphics environments.

The integrated graphics feature a 2-core Radeon Graphics (up to 2200MHz) configuration, enabling basic display output.

Security features include the latest security technologies such as AMD Secure Processor, Shadow Stack, and Windows Secured-Core PC support.

This product goes beyond simple gaming performance and aims to improve performance in cache-intensive, high-load tasks such as large-scale code compilation, scientific and financial simulations, and AI inference.

AMD emphasized that “Dual 3D V-Cache technology will open up new possibilities for desktop computing.”
