UNIST is holding a public talk concert featuring Grandmaster Lee Chang-ho and UNIST Distinguished Professor Lee Se-dol to discuss the role of humans in the AI era. This event is organized as a public program to introduce the educational direction of the newly established GRIT Talent Convergence School to the public.

UNIST announced that it will hold 'UNIST Open Stage 1' at 2 p.m. on May 6 in the main auditorium of the main building. The theme of the event is 'The Future That Arrived First on the Board: A Move for the AI Era from Lee Chang-ho and Lee Se-dol'.

This talk concert sheds light on human judgment, creativity, and tenacity in the AI era through the game of Go. Grandmaster Lee Chang-ho and Special Professor Lee Se-dol will discuss the meaning of human thought and challenge, drawing on their experiences as top-tier Go players.

The event is also connected to the purpose of establishing the GRIT Talent Convergence Department. This department pursues an educational model in which students directly design their majors and curricula, and supports academic paths tailored to students' interests and career goals through project-based inquiry education and dedicated faculty guidance.

Starting with this event, UNIST plans to continue open programs inviting figures from the fields of science and technology, art, and creative work. A screening and artist talk by UNIST Distinguished Professor A-Young Kim is scheduled for the end of May.
