Supermicro is establishing a new campus of approximately 130,000 square meters near its headquarters in San Jose, California, and is expanding its capabilities to produce and supply AI data center infrastructure.

Supermicro announced on April 30 that it is expanding its Silicon Valley operations by unveiling a new campus based on Data Center Building Blocks Solution (DCBBS).

The new campus is the company's fourth base in the Bay Area. Upon completion, Supermicro's total operating area in the region is expected to increase to approximately 370,000 square meters.

This facility operates by consolidating data center infrastructure design, manufacturing, testing, and service functions in one location. Through this, the company plans to more efficiently supply the systems and rack-unit solutions required to build AI infrastructure.

As the demand for AI training and inference increases, data centers are evolving into structures that require the simultaneous consideration of not only servers but also networks, power, cooling, and management software. DCBBS is a modular infrastructure approach that combines these elements to suit the customer's environment.

Local economic effects are also expected. The company expects this expansion to create hundreds of jobs in the engineering, manufacturing, and business sectors.

Supermicro plans to expand its production base in the U.S. based on its new San Jose campus and strengthen its capabilities to supply AI data center infrastructure for hyperscale, cloud, and enterprise customers.
