Employee invention compensation system and recognition of patent asset capitalization, 227 patents in AI optimization and video AI
Nota announced on the 28th that it received the top prize, the Minister of Intellectual Property Affairs Award, at the 'Contest for Best Practices in Operating the Employee Invention System.' In this contest, the operation of the employee invention system and the performance in linking technology development and intellectual property management through it were evaluated.
The employee invention system is a system in which a company inherits inventions created by employees during the course of their work and provides fair compensation to the inventors. This allows companies to securely protect their core technologies, while employees can receive compensation for their inventive activities.
Nota has maintained its certification as an excellent company for employee invention compensation since the introduction of the system in 2022. The company has expanded its intellectual property portfolio by securing invention ideas from employees as patents and applying them to products and services.
As of May 2026, Nota has secured a total of 227 patents based on domestic and international filings and registrations, focusing on AI model optimization and lightweighting, as well as AI-based intelligent CCTV and video surveillance technologies. Key patents include AI model optimization, provision of benchmark results, and visual-language model-based inference technology.
These technologies are being applied to the AI optimization platform 'NetsPresso' and the VLM-based video surveillance solution 'NVA (Nota Vision Agent)'. NetsPresso supports the operation of AI models in various device environments, and NVA is used for video analysis in industrial sites and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
Chae Myeong-su, CEO of Nota, stated, “This is the result of receiving recognition for our intellectual property management system, in which members’ inventions lead to corporate technological assets and business competitiveness,” adding, “We will strengthen our core patent portfolio, focusing on AI optimization and on-device AI.”
