Siemens has set out to expand the application of AI in the manufacturing industry by unveiling an industrial AI platform aimed at realizing a 'Hybrid Workforce' where humans and AI work together in industrial settings.

Siemens announced on the 15th that it has released 'Intelligence Center X,' industrial AI orchestration software. The solution was first unveiled at the 'Realize LIVE Americas 2026' event held in Detroit earlier this month and is available as part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio.

Intelligence Center X is designed to connect enterprise data, business processes, AI models, and agents into a single management system, enabling the application of AI-based applications to the operational environment. Through this, Siemens aims to expand industrial AI, which had previously remained at the proof-of-concept (PoC) level, into actual production and operation stages.

The platform integrates the Mendix low-code development environment with Graph Studio and AI Studio, based on the RapidMiner portfolio. This enables enterprises to contextualize industrial data and perform AI model development, agent deployment, and business process integration within a single environment. Furthermore, it supports data traceability and governance by utilizing industrial ontologies and knowledge graphs.

Siemens explained that despite the industry's active investment in AI adoption, it is facing difficulties in large-scale expansion due to data disconnects, a lack of governance, and insufficient connection with field operations. To address these issues, Intelligence Center X provides a structure where humans and AI agents share the same data and work context.

Actual application cases were also revealed. Brazilian flat glass manufacturer Vivix Vidros Planos stated that it operates approximately 30 applications by integrating Siemens Industrial Edge, SAP S/4HANA, and Snowflake environments, reducing production problem resolution time by 85% and cutting 6,000 hours of manual work annually. Additionally, South African IT company Axis explained that by applying the platform to its pricing process, it reduced manual work by 95% and improved data collection accuracy to 100%.

Recently, interest in the manufacturing industry has been growing beyond generative AI toward Agentic AI, which performs tasks autonomously. Siemens announced plans to focus on connecting engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and service data through its Intelligence Center X to establish a reliable AI operating system in industrial settings.
