Samsung Electronics is launching a new high-performance memory card with significantly improved user convenience in 53 countries worldwide, including Korea, the United States, and China.

The two professional 'PRO Plus' models (64 and 32 gigabytes) and three consumer 'EVO Plus' models (128, 64, and 32 gigabytes), which are being released this month in the form of microSD cards, are also scheduled to be introduced as SD cards in July. Following the 'PRO' and 'EVO' released last year, Samsung Electronics' memory cards add this new high-performance 'Plus' product, providing a wide range of options for all users, from consumer smartphones to professional cameras.

In particular, the 'PRO Plus' micro SD satisfies all the requirements of 'high performance, high reliability, and high capacity' demanded by the latest digital devices, such as professional DSLR cameras capable of shooting 4K UHD video, action cameras, digital camcorders, and smartphones.

※ 4K UHD: A video standard supporting a resolution of 4096 x 2160, which is more than four times the resolution of Full HD (1920x1080). As resolution increases, the size of data required in the same amount of time grows exponentially, demanding fast processing speeds.

In particular, with read and write speeds of 95 and 90 megabytes per second—the highest level for memory cards—it achieves 'UHS Speed Class 3' (U3) performance, which is essential for high-resolution video recording; the 64GB model can record up to 110 minutes of 4K UHD video. The 'EVO Plus Micro SD' is an optimal product for smartphone external memory, featuring read and write speeds of 80 and 20 megabytes per second, respectively, and the 128GB model can store over 16 hours of Full HD video. Both products are guaranteed for a 10-year lifespan and 10,000 insertions and removals, prevent data loss even from strong external magnetic shocks including X-rays, and can be used with confidence even in harsh weather conditions (operation -25°C to 85°C, storage 45°C to 85°C) and high temperatures with high humidity (40°C, 93% humidity, sustained for 500 hours).
